Information for Admissions 


Students are always a priority for the University of South Wales. Students are offered a friendly and academically challenging environment to study and grow through obstacles. 

International students are provided with every type of assistance throughout their application process and after they are enrolled. 

Following are a few pieces of information useful for international students. 

Fee And Scholarships


The university offers a range of scholarships for self-dependent international students. These benefits are automatically considered when your application is evaluated. All of the scholarships are applied to every year that you study at the university. However, the applicants must pay the minimum required deposit mentioned in the offer letter on time to secure these scholarships. 

The fee depends upon the course you have chosen for yourself. It can range from 2700 GBP to 1500 GBP. The amount covered by scholarships depends on the courses as well. These scholarships can be up to 2000 GBP for Post-graduate courses. 

Living Costs


For students, there are expenses other than the tuition fees for your university. The cost of Rent, Food, Gas and electricity, Internet, mobile bills, laundry, travel, stationery, and luxury expenses can add up to 1200 GBP per month. For financial support other than what university provides, students, can opt for part-time work or college itself or other means.

Entry Requirements


Similar to fee and scholarship structure, Entry requirements for the university of south wales depend upon the course for which you have applied. 

For Undergraduate Students:


English Language and other requirements.

For Undergraduate students, an overall average of 60-65% or above in the 12th standard, depending on your board, is required.

Students who hold a UK HND or an Indian diploma can apply for advanced entry. 

For Postgraduate students:
 

For 3 year degrees like BCOM, BBA, B.SC, BCA, BA, etc., 60% or a CGPA of 6.0/10 and above in the final year is required. However, this degree should be granted from a recognized Indian university for entry to a postgraduate program.

For 4-5 years of degrees like BE, BTECH, B PARMA, or B ARCH, a result of 55% or CGPAof 5.8/10 in the final year is required. 

For the University of Mumbai, University of Delhi University of Pune, Jadavpur University, or the University of Calcutta, 50% or CGPA of 5.5 is accepted.

English Qualifications 

In most of the universities abroad, evidence of English efficiency is required. The University of South Wales recognizes the following: 

HSC English at 60-70% or above

IELTS 6.0 overall with at least 5.5 in each band. A USW English test or the password test for Indian students is also accepted. 

Students can also take the alternative English test from the University of South Wales. 

If students cannot meet the requirements for these English proficiency tests, they can also opt for English language courses. 

Arriving at the University of South Wales


USW organizes arrival services for international students to make their travel arrangements. These services are available throughout the year, from Cardiff International Airport and Heathrow Airport London.

For queries before the admissions, during your application, and after your enrollment, or for any doubts, students are provided with support and advice service for non-academic welfare by the university. There are different departments for personal safety, crime prevention, and scams for students. Students can safely enjoy the company of their friends and the nightlife of Wales. 

Accommodation


Student halls are available at each of the 3 campuses at usw. Students are also provided with the option of 3rd party or private accommodation. It can cost from 2000GBPs to 5000 GBP. 

Information for parents 


For loans and other finances, students can opt for education loans and student loans before or as soon as their offer letter arrives. Some universities provide a conditional offer letter to students who cannot make an immediate arrangement for the fee.
