Few Ausbildung training places are available since being a cooper requires a very traditional and unique training style.

In three years, you will learn the art of barrel making. A craft practised for many generations and was impossible to duplicate.

Vats are substantial wooden containers used for the fermentation and storage of wine and beer.

Oak is used to construct wine and brandy barrels because the wood imparts taste to the finished product.

You can begin the actual job once you’ve determined the staves’ order in the later barrel.

You correctly fasten all staves to a steel “barrel hoop” to create a structure that resembles a massive wooden lampshade.

Did you know that the process used to create a barrel in 2016 is the same as it was 2000 years ago?

The delicate work starts after the barrel’s shape establishment, the bases are in place, and there is no longer a chance that your work may “burst at the seams”.

The inside of the barrel must also be waxed if the contents remain flavourless.

You must determine how big the barrel should be, how much material you need, and the buyer cost.

They teach all the math formulas required in the vocational school.
