The central board of secondary education resolved to carry out at least 40% competency-based questions for classes 9 to 10. The competency-based questions might be case-study, multiple choice, and source-based, integrated questions. Additionally, a minimum of 20% of the questions must be objective type. The rest of the 40% can be short or long-answer questions for the CBSE board exam 2023 for class 10th.

At least 30% of the questions would be competency-based, adding multiple-choice, case study, and source-based questions. The objective questions in final exams can carry 20% credit, and the rest of 50% of the questions can be long or short descriptive.
