BACHELOR OF ENGINEERING IN MEDICAL TECHNOLOGY IN GERMANY

Medical Technology is the key in Germany for the growing health awareness and technical advancements. Medical Technology in Germany is crucial in many areas, like diagnosis during ECG, X-ray imaging, blood tests, cardiac pacemakers, ventilators, lungs, and kidneys.

Bachelor of Engineering in Medical Technology in Germany (in German) is a 3-year course starting in the winter. It is a practice-oriented engineering course mediator between the patient, medicine, and technology.

During the first and second semesters, students will learn the basic concepts of mathematics, physics, English, electrical engineering, chemistry, anatomy, and informatics. 

The following semesters will dive into the technical aspects like medical device law, biophysics, basics of control engineering, measurement technology, measurement technology, biomedical engineering, safety, and quality.

The fifth semester has more technical subjects and compulsory elective subjects that students can choose based on their interests. 

In the last semester (sixth semester), students have a practical module where they should go to a company or a research facility/institution. They will work on an engineering task under supervision to gain industrial knowledge.

In the last semester, students complete the Medical Technology course with a bachelor’s thesis. A bachelor’s degree is enough for a civil service job. 

The students can pursue a master’s degree in medical technology if they prefer.
