Work Study in Food Manufacturing


Join Diploma in Food Manufacturing at the School of Hospitality as they bring together the best of both worlds in hospitality and tourism. The Diploma in Food Manufacturing course aims to enable students to develop their knowledge, principles and practices underpinning food processing and production. It is intended to prepare trainees to work in the field related to food processing and production or manufacturing.
Upon successful completion of the course and Industrial Attachment, students will be awarded the Diploma in Food Manufacturing by DIMENSIONS International College.

DIMENSIONS’ Bukit Timah Campus is well-equipped with training facilities based on real life setups, which are used for practical training for operations of Bar, Restaurants, Kitchen, Front Desk and Hotel Room services. Other facilities include an auditorium, a computer lab, a multi-function hall and badminton courts. The Bukit Timah Campus is one out of three campuses of DIMENSIONS International College.

The program consists of two components:

• Theory and practical class lessons conducted at DIMENSIONS International College (9 months).
• Industrial Attachment (paid internship)*, students will be trained at restaurants food processing establishments, food manufacturers, food wholesalers or other related companies (6 months).

• To provide basic understanding and concept of food science, processing, preservation, production and control.
• To equip with skills for jobs in food manufacturing that are up to industrial standards.
• To understand personal hygiene and food safety in the industry.
• To understand quality of raw materials, processing system, operation and inspection processes and the quality of finished products.
• To acquire knowledge by practicing in a real food processing establishment.

• Those who seek to improve their skills and are eager to be an on-the-job trainee at a retail or wholesale food manufacturing establishment.
• Aspiring food hygiene officer, baker, food batch makers or other food processing occupations who would process raw food products into the finished goods sold by grocers or wholesalers, restaurants, or institutional food services.


Entry Requirements

English Proficiency: For students from India and the Philippines, pass the English subject at the 10th year of formal education.

Academic Level: 10 years of secondary education or its equivalent.
